The Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) Board Commissioners are inviting the community to participate in a series of Community Conversations scheduled for November. These sessions will focus on the activities of the Indianapolis Local Education Alliance (ILEA) and discuss the future direction of IPS.

The ILEA, established by the Indiana General Assembly, is tasked with developing strategies related to school facility and transportation management, governance structure, and efficiency improvements. Its purpose is to foster greater collaboration between traditional public schools and public charter schools while enhancing academic experiences for students across Indianapolis.

Community members attending these conversations will have an opportunity to provide feedback on these issues. The meetings are set to take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on designated dates in November. In-person attendees will have access to language interpretation services and refreshments.

The ILEA is expected to vote on its final recommendations during its last meeting, after which it will submit its report to district, city, and state leaders by December 31, 2025.

“Your voice and feedback are needed at the upcoming IPS Community Conversations.”

Those interested in learning more about the ILEA or reviewing past meeting materials can find additional information through provided resources.
