Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) and the Marion County Public Health Department will host a Last Chance Vaccine and Health Clinic at Arsenal Technical High School on Friday, October 17. The clinic will run from 1 to 7 p.m., with vaccines and sports physicals available until 6 p.m.
The event is open to IPS students and their families. Attendees can access free vaccines, sports physicals, health insurance navigation assistance, dental education, and refreshments. Students who receive vaccines at the clinic will be entered into a raffle for Kroger gift cards.
Health officials say vaccinating K–12 students before winter is important to reduce illness from respiratory viruses that become more common in colder months. Dr. Megan Carlson, IPS director of health services, stated: “Our goal is to make it easy for families to take care of essential health needs in a supportive and welcoming environment. By getting vaccinated now, students can stay in class, avoid preventable illness, and help protect others in our community through community immunity.”
The clinic will take place in the cafeteria at Arsenal Technical High School at 1500 E. Michigan Street. No appointment is needed.
