Indiana teacher receives Hoosier Lottery Community Impact Award

Andrew Bartolacci, a lead physical education and health teacher at T.C. Howe Middle School, has been honored with the Hoosier Lottery Community Impact Award by the Indiana Pacers. This recognition was part of a special ceremony held at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, celebrating his dedication to students and contributions to the Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) community.

Bartolacci has over ten years of experience in education and has influenced many students through innovative teaching methods and leadership in after-school programs. His involvement ranges from coaching sports like volleyball, soccer, and track to organizing activities such as archery and ultimate ninja.

His achievements include being named “Middle School Physical Education Teacher of the Year” by INSHAPE. Additionally, his school received recognition as one of the healthiest in the nation by the Alliance for a Healthier Generation.

Beyond athletics, Bartolacci is an active member of the IPS District Wellness Team, contributing to wellness policies and developing the district’s K-12 physical education curriculum. He has also secured over $50,000 in grants to improve athletic opportunities for his students.
