Indiana House Republicans are accepting applications for their 2026 legislative session internship program, according to State Representatives Matt Lehman and Lorissa Sweet. The paid, full-time internships are open to college students, recent graduates, and those in graduate or law school.

Lehman emphasized the value of these positions for young people seeking practical government experience. "Internships give students a real advantage in today's job market," Lehman said. "Our program complements classroom learning by offering practical, hands-on experience that helps students strengthen their skills and stand out to future employers."

Sweet described the internship as a chance for students to explore professional interests while working at the Statehouse in downtown Indianapolis from January through March. "A House internship is a great way for students to figure out what they are passionate about and gain skills in a professional setting," Sweet said. "This real-world experience can give you an edge over other job seekers in a competitive market."

Internship roles include legislative operations, policy, and communications. Each intern will be assigned to work with staff members supporting state representatives. Participants will also interact with legislators, agencies, private organizations, and attend a weekly speaker series featuring Indiana civic leaders.

Applications must be submitted online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship by October 31.
