Indiana House Republicans are inviting applications for paid, full-time internships for the 2026 legislative session. State Representative Lorissa Sweet (R-Wabash) announced that the program is open to college students, recent graduates, and those enrolled in graduate or law school.
"A House internship is a great way for students to figure out what they are passionate about and gain skills in a professional setting," Sweet said. "This real-world experience can give you an edge over other job seekers in a competitive market."
Interns will work at the Statehouse in downtown Indianapolis from Monday through Friday during the legislative session, which begins in January and ends in March. Available positions include roles in legislative operations, policy, and communications.
Each intern will be assigned to work with a staff member and support a group of state representatives. The internship also offers opportunities to interact with legislators, state agencies, private sector organizations, and participate in a weekly speaker series featuring Indiana civic leaders.
Applications must be submitted online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship by October 31.
