@ButlerXCTF Rewrite History at the Music City Challenge and David Henry Valentine Invitational
Barry Keane placed eighth overall and second among college runners in the elite 5,000 meters in Boston. Keane crossed the line in a time of 13:28.85. Among the college participants, only Notre Dame's Carter Solomon (13:26.11) finished in front of him.
Keane posted a time of 13:21.57 on that same track in December.
Jack McMahon clocked a time of 13:59.62 in the 5,000 meters later in the day. He shaved nearly 20 seconds off his previous personal-best.
After breaking the school record in the mile last week, Angelina Ellis rewrote history again in the 3,000 meters at the DHV Invitational. Ellis clocked in at 9:04.93, knocking off the previous record set in 2015 by Mara Olson. Her mark currently ranks as the second-best in the BIG EAST and 35th nationally.
Mia Beckham moved up the BU All-Time list in the 5,000 meters. She posted a new indoor personal best of 16:15.42.
David Slapak made his debut in the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:00.77. His mark ranks tenth all-time on a packed Butler indoor list.
At the Music City Challenge, the trio of men's 400-meter runners earned new lifetime-bests. Gavin Cougle and Zac Stanley produced new personal-bests at 48.86 and 48.94. Michael Beros rounded out the event for the Bulldogs in 49.99, respectively.
Other notable finishes
•Luke Finnegan snared seventh in the men's 200 meters with a time of 21.53
•Katherine Olsen hit the line in ninth for the women's 600 meters at 1:34.41
•Joey Gareis grabbed top-10 finishes in the men's long jump and triple jump with distances of 6.92 meters at 14.25 meters.
