UIS, Jewell Earn Multiple Baseball Academic All-Americans
The Academic All-America teams from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) have been released with three from the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) making the First Team.
Illinois Springfield senior Kal Youngquist repeated as an Academic All-American with a 3.66 GPA in Business Administration while helping the Prairie Stars advance to the Division II Championship this past weekend. William Jewell had a pair of student-athletes in junior Alex Epp and senior Anthony Hansen.
Two more from Illinois Springfield were named All-Americans, voted on the Third Team by Sports Information Directors from across the country. Seniors Brandon Bannon and Austin Alderman each earned their first Academic All-America award for their efforts in 2022.
