Numerous GLVC Teams Place at NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships
The Outdoor Track & Field season has come to an end with the conclusion of the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships last weekend, as the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) had multiple teams place and several student-athletes earn All-America honors.
Lindenwood placed 21st in the field as the highest-placing GLVC men’s team. Indianapolis (36th), Truman State(39th), and Missouri S&T (49th) were the three other teams from the GLVC to finish in the top 50 of the country. Lindenwood’s Jameel Walkes-Miller (100m) and Samuel Yaro (400m) both earned All-America status in their respective events. Indianapolis’ Ben Nagel (800m), Lindenwood’s Damaine Dixon (400m Hurdles), Missouri S&T’s Nathan Swadley (Shot Put), and Truman's Jacob Morris (Discus Throw) all received All-America honors, as well.
On the women’s side, Lindenwood was the highest-placing GLVC squad, as they placed 38th. Drury (43rd) and Southern Indiana (49th) were the only other GLVC teams to place over the weekend. Earning All-America honors were Drury’s Katie McCune (800m), USI’s Cameron Hough (10K), and Lindenwood’s Olivia Alexandre (400m Hurdles).
