Indy Eleven, a professional soccer team in Indianapolis, recognized Dr. Arturo Rodriguez, principal of Theodore Potter School 74, with the 2025 Campeones de la Comunidad Award during a ceremony on September 21. The award celebrates Hispanic and Latino leaders who make significant contributions to their communities through service, education, advocacy, and empowerment.
Dr. Rodriguez was nominated for the award by Katie Moll, a behavior specialist and social worker within the school district. Moll highlighted Rodriguez’s career-long dedication to public education and his support for immigrants and English language learners.
“Dr. Rodriguez has dedicated over 30 years to public education and has been a champion for immigrants and English language learners,” said Moll. “He has been a leader in Indianapolis Public Schools at the building and district levels and is currently the principal of Theodore Potter School 74, a dual language School. Dr. Rodriguez, along with Assistant Principal Ryan Beckley, has brought renewed enthusiasm and excitement to Potter in the midst of a challenging political climate for educators and families. Dr. Rodriguez exemplifies the title of Campeon de la Comunidad.”
The recognition took place on-field during Indy Eleven’s Hispanic Heritage Night at Carroll Stadium.
