Applications are now open for the Indiana House Page Program during the 2025 legislative session at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, as announced by Monroe County legislators. The program invites Hoosier students aged 13 to 18 to spend a day assisting lawmakers and staff, touring the Indiana Statehouse, and observing legislative sessions.

State Representative Dave Hall emphasized the value of this opportunity: "The page program offers students a chance to step inside the Statehouse and see government at work. It is a unique way to inspire civic engagement and the next generation of Hoosier leaders."

Interested students can find applications at IndianaHouseRepublicans.com/PageProgram, where they can also view available dates during the legislative session. The session begins on January 8 and concludes by April 29.

State Representative Bob Heaton shared his perspective on the experience: "Paging at the House of Representatives is a memorable experience for students to witness the legislative process up close. It's an exciting opportunity for young Hoosiers to learn about state government and meet with their representative."

According to State Representative Peggy Mayfield, students can participate in paging on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays throughout the session, with large groups able to join on Wednesdays only. Students will receive an excused absence from school for their participation. For group scheduling, contact details provided include calling 317-232-9410 or emailing pageprogram@iga.in.gov.

Mayfield added her encouragement: "The House page program is a fantastic way for students to see government in action and engage with lawmakers. I encourage eligible students to apply and participate in this unique opportunity."

Participants are responsible for arranging their own lunch and transportation to and from Indianapolis' Statehouse.
