André Carson, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Indiana's 7th district, has shared his views on several significant political issues through recent social media posts. Carson, who succeeded Julia Carson in 2008 and previously served on the Indianapolis City-County Council, voiced concerns about legislation affecting healthcare and social programs, trade policies with Canada, and government funding.

On March 11, 2025, Carson criticized a Republican-backed bill for cutting affordable housing and healthcare services. He expressed concern over its failure to protect key programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. In his words: "Republicans just passed a bill that cuts affordable housing and healthcare—including veterans’ healthcare—and fails to protect Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security." Carson affirmed his vote against these measures by stating he aimed to safeguard Americans from what he described as "devastating cuts."

In another post dated March 12, 2025, Carson addressed international trade tensions initiated by former President Trump. He stated: "President Trump picked a reckless fight with Canada at the expense of hard working American workers paying for it. His tariffs will hurt Americans." This comment reflects Carson's opposition to tariff policies he believes are detrimental to American workers.

Further emphasizing fiscal responsibility and government functionality on March 13, 2025, Carson communicated his support for extending government funding temporarily. He declared: "House Democrats are united in our support for a 4-week funding extension." Carson expressed readiness to vote promptly for this extension to prevent harmful cuts and ensure continued government operations while seeking bipartisan agreement.
