Applications are now open for the Indiana House Page Program for the 2025 legislative session at the Statehouse in Indianapolis. State Representatives Matt Lehman and Lorissa Sweet have announced that students aged 13 to 18 are invited to participate.
Lehman stated, "Student pages have the opportunity to meet local lawmakers and work with Statehouse staff during their visit." He emphasized that this program offers young Hoosiers a chance to learn about Indiana government and the legislative process.
The application process is available online at IndianaHouseRepublicans.com/PageProgram, where students can also find information on available days during the session. The legislative session will commence on January 8 and conclude by April 29.
Sweet encouraged participation, saying, "Paging at the Statehouse gives students a behind-the-scenes look at what happens on a daily basis during the legislative session." She urged eligible students from her district to sign up promptly.
Students interested in paging can do so on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. They will receive an excused absence from school for participating. Large groups may schedule visits on Wednesdays by contacting the page program director at 317-232-9410 or via email at pageprogram@iga.in.gov.
Participants must arrange their own lunch and transportation to and from the Statehouse in Indianapolis.
