Applications are now open for the Indiana House Page Program during the 2025 legislative session at the Statehouse in Indianapolis. This announcement was made by State Representatives Kendell Culp (R-Rensselaer) and Jim Pressel (R-Rolling Prairie).
State Rep. Culp extended an invitation to Hoosier students aged 13 to 18, encouraging them to spend a day assisting lawmakers and staff, touring the Indiana Statehouse, and observing the legislative session. "From January to April, we will allow students to participate in Indiana's legislative process and learn more about our state's history," said Culp. "I encourage young Hoosiers to take part in this informative program."
The applications can be accessed at IndianaHouseRepublicans.com/PageProgram, which also provides details on available days during the 2025 legislative session starting January 8 and concluding by April 29.
Rep. Pressel highlighted the benefits of this initiative: "Students should take advantage of this hands-on learning experience at the Statehouse," he said. "From sitting in on session to assisting lawmakers, the page program is a great way to learn more about how state laws are made."
Students interested in participating can choose from Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays during the session, with large groups scheduled only on Wednesdays. Participants will receive an excused absence from school for their involvement. To schedule group visits, contact the page program director at 317-232-9410 or pageprogram@iga.in.gov.
It is noted that students are responsible for their own lunch and transportation to and from Indianapolis.
State Rep. Kendell Culp represents House District 16, which includes parts of Jasper, Pulaski, Starke, and White counties.
