State Representatives Cindy Ledbetter and Shane Lindauer have been appointed to serve on significant House standing committees at the Statehouse. These appointments, made by the Indiana House Speaker every two years after the November election, will remain effective throughout their two-year terms.

Cindy Ledbetter, representing Newburgh, will join the House Family, Children and Human Affairs Committee, the House Insurance Committee, and the House Public Health Committee. "As a nurse practitioner, I look forward to using my experience in the health care industry to help alleviate some of its challenges, such as affordability and access to care," said Ledbetter. She expressed her enthusiasm for representing her district in these committees during this session.

Shane Lindauer from Jasper has been reappointed as chair of the House Natural Resources Committee and will also serve on the House Roads and Transportation Committee. Lindauer highlighted that committees are tasked with vetting bills through public testimony and amendments. "My top priority as chair is for us to be great stewards of the land and natural resources we have been given," stated Lindauer. He conveyed his eagerness to continue protecting Indiana's natural resources responsibly.

The legislative session for 2025 is set to commence at 1:30 p.m. on January 8th. Residents can access iga.in.gov for legislative information, calendars, and live committee meetings.
