With the upcoming legislative session, lawmakers in Northeast Indiana are urging residents to participate in online surveys to provide feedback on key issues. Hoosiers can access these surveys by visiting their state representative's webpage and selecting the "Take My Survey" option.
State Representative David Abbott of House District 18, State Representative Tony Isa of House District 51, and State Representative Ben Smaltz of House District 52 have all made their webpages available for constituents to share their views. Abbott emphasized the importance of understanding constituent concerns, stating, "Understanding the concerns that matter the most to those living and working in House District 18 is essential as I work on crafting new legislation."
To complete the survey, participants must reside in the district and submit their responses by December 31. Constituents can verify their district by visiting the Indiana General Assembly's website and using the "Find Your Legislator" tool. Surveys may also be received via mail.
Isa highlighted the significance of these surveys: "The feedback gathered from these surveys helps us focus on legislation that reflects the needs and values of the communities we serve." The legislative session is set to begin on January 8 and will conclude by April 29. During this period, Hoosiers can track proceedings at iga.in.gov.
Smaltz encouraged participation by saying, "For Indiana to keep moving forward, it's vital for Hoosiers to stay engaged and share their opinions with state lawmakers by completing the 2025 issue survey." Residents can also subscribe to email newsletters or contact legislators directly for updates during the session.
