State Rep. Brad Barrett (R-Richmond) has been appointed to serve on three significant House committees. Barrett will continue as chair of the House Public Health Committee and will also serve on the House Agriculture and Rural Development Committee and the House Insurance Committee.

"Ensuring access to quality health care for all Hoosiers is our focus for all communities," Barrett stated. "As chair of the Public Health Committee, I’m eager to lead discussions that improve lives across Indiana and am committed to providing policies that boost health outcomes."

Committee appointments are made by the Indiana House Speaker every two years following the November election and remain effective throughout members' two-year terms.

The upcoming legislative session is set to begin at 1:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025. Hoosiers can visit iga.in.gov for legislative information, calendars, and to watch committee meetings and sessions.

Barrett encourages constituents to visit in.gov/h56 for e-newsletter updates about Statehouse activities during and after the legislative session.
