State Representatives Kendell Culp and Jim Pressel have been appointed to key House standing committees at the Indiana Statehouse. These appointments are made biennially by the Indiana House Speaker following the November election and remain effective for the duration of members' two-year terms.

Rep. Kendell Culp, representing Rensselaer, has been reappointed as vice chair of the House Environmental Affairs Committee. He will also serve on the House Utilities, Energy and Telecommunications Committee and the House Elections and Apportionment Committee. Culp emphasized the importance of energy discussions in his district, stating, "House District 16 has the most diverse energy generation portfolio in Indiana," adding that he is eager to engage in conversations aimed at creating solutions to energy concerns.

Rep. Jim Pressel from Rolling Prairie was reappointed as chair of the House Roads and Transportation Committee. He will also be a member of both the House Utilities, Energy and Telecommunication Committee and the House Elections and Apportionment Committee. Pressel highlighted the significance of infrastructure development, noting, "Roads and infrastructures are essential to the development and growth of our state," expressing his commitment to ensuring safe roads in Indiana.

The legislative session is set to begin on January 8, 2025, at 1:30 p.m., where lawmakers will convene for their first day. Residents can access information about legislation, view calendars, and watch committee meetings through iga.in.gov.
