Garrett Bascom has officially assumed his role as the state representative for House District 68, which encompasses Dearborn, Ohio, and Switzerland counties, along with part of Jefferson County. The swearing-in ceremony took place on Tuesday at the Statehouse during Organization Day, marking the beginning of the 2025 legislative session.

Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Loretta H. Rush administered the oath to all members of the House in a formal ceremony held in the House Chamber.

"It is a great honor to be the representative of House District 68, and I'm beyond excited to start this upcoming legislative session," Bascom stated. "As a state legislator, I will advocate for greater access to mental health resources, ensure we maintain a strong and efficient justice system, and bring the voices of my constituents to the Statehouse."

Bascom is originally from Dearborn County and works as an attorney in private practice. His previous roles include serving as assistant director of operations, special assistant to the attorney general, and deputy attorney general in the Indiana Attorney General's Office.

He holds a bachelor's degree in communication and new media studies from Mount St. Joseph University and obtained his law degree from Robert H. McKinney School of Law.

Constituents wishing to contact Bascom can do so by calling 317-232-9600 or visiting in.gov/h68.
