Ethan Lawson from Greenfield has been sworn in as the state representative for House District 53, covering parts of Hancock and Madison counties. The ceremony took place during Organization Day at the Statehouse, marking the start of the 2025 legislative session. Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Loretta H. Rush administered the oath to all House lawmakers.

Lawson expressed his commitment to serving his community: "Representing House District 53 is a true privilege, and I'm already taking what I’ve heard from our neighbors across Hancock and Madison counties to the Statehouse," he stated. "Listening and responding to the needs of Hoosiers throughout our communities is my top priority, and I look forward to rolling up my sleeves and getting to work to ensure our state government works for us."

Lawson holds both bachelor's and master's degrees in business from Western Governors University. His background includes service with the Indiana National Guard, and he currently volunteers as vice chair for the Hancock County Republican Party. He resides in Greenfield with his wife, Holly, and they are members of Otterbein Methodist Church.

Residents can contact Lawson at 317-232-9600 or visit in.gov/h53 for more information.
