How many patents granted in Indianapolis in week ending June 27?

There were 11 patents granted in Indianapolis in the week ending June 27, according to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

This is nine less than the week before. Patents included a methods of using silage produced from a corn hybrid comprising brown midrib and floury traits for meat production.

The earliest patent filed which was granted in the week ending June 27 belonged to Agrigenetics, Inc. who filed in December 1, 2017.

The number of approved patents in the U.S. grew steadily from roughly 225,000 in 2009 to more than 285,000 in 2019. The number of patents approved suffered a slight downturn in 2020.

Gene Quinn with IPWatchdog said the system underneath patents have become unwieldy, specifically for medical innovations.
