Indianapolis-Carmel-Anderson metro surpass San Juan-Carolina-Caguas in 2019

The Indianapolis-Carmel-Anderson metro area exported $4.8 billion in 2019, more than exports from San Juan-Carolina-Caguas in 2019, according to the International Trade Administration.

A study from the Brookings Institute found competition between areas within the United States increases exports, which in turn generates stronger sales and more jobs for American workers.

The Indianapolis-Carmel-Anderson metro area consists of eight counties.

The San Juan-Carolina-Caguas metro area comprises three counties exporting $4.7 billion in 2019.

The metro area with the most exports was Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land with $129.7 billion exported.
