Indiana House Republicans are accepting applications for their 2026 legislative session internship program, State Rep. Stephen Bartels (R-Eckerty) announced. The internships are paid and full-time, open to college students, recent graduates, and those enrolled in graduate or law school.

According to Bartels, the program is designed to provide practical experience with state government. "The goal of these internships is giving young Hoosiers hands-on experience in our state government," Bartels said. "We offer the opportunity to work on a wide range of issues and see what a legislative session looks like up close."

Interns will be based at the Statehouse in downtown Indianapolis, working Monday through Friday throughout the legislative session, which runs from January to March. Available positions include roles in legislative operations, policy, and communications.

Participants will be assigned a staff member mentor and work directly with a group of state representatives. The internship also includes opportunities to interact with legislators, agencies, private sector organizations, and attend a weekly speaker series featuring Indiana civic leaders.

Applications can be submitted online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship and must be received by October 31.
