Indiana House Republicans are accepting applications for student internships for the 2026 legislative session, State Representative Tim Yocum (R-Clinton) announced.

The internships are paid and full-time, open to college students, recent graduates, and those in graduate or law school. According to Yocum, the program offers participants a chance to learn about state government by taking part in daily legislative activities.

"Our interns contribute daily to the work we do for Hoosiers at the Statehouse," Yocum said. "From assisting constituents and attending committee meetings, to crafting press releases and working directly with representatives, House internships have much to offer students."

Interns will be based at the Statehouse in downtown Indianapolis and will work Monday through Friday throughout the legislative session, which begins in January and ends in March. Available positions include roles in legislative operations, policy, and communications.

Yocum stated that each intern will be paired with a staff member and assigned to a group of state representatives. Interns will also have opportunities to engage with legislators, agencies, private sector organizations, and participate in a weekly speaker series featuring civic leaders from Indiana.

Applications can be submitted online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship until October 31.
