André Carson, U.S. Congressman representing Indiana’s 7th district since 2008, recently used his social media platform to address constituents about ongoing economic and bureaucratic challenges. In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), Carson highlighted both the work of his office in assisting local families and concerns over national employment trends.

On September 16, 2025, Carson described efforts by his office to support residents navigating federal agencies: "When an Indianapolis family faced years of challenges securing Social Security benefits, my office was able to get results. If you are facing difficulties navigating a federal agency, my office may be able to assist. Visit https://t.co/oWj8n7hL02 to learn more. https://t.co/svNKIcrFjK".

Two days later, on September 18, 2025, Carson addressed recent job losses in the manufacturing sector following policy changes under former President Trump: "The U.S. has lost manufacturing jobs in each of the 4 months since Trump announced his taxes on everything we import.

It’s more important than ever that we pass a government funding bill that keeps the government open and protects working Americans."

In another post from the same day, Carson commented on national unemployment data: "For the first time in 4 years, unemployed workers outnumber available jobs.

The U.S. economy actually lost 13,000 jobs in June, the first negative jobs month in nearly 5 years."

Carson’s public statements come as he continues his tenure as representative for Indiana's 7th District—a role he has held since succeeding Julia Carson in 2008 after previously serving on the Indianapolis City-County Council from 2007 to 2008. Born and residing in Indianapolis, Carson graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin with a BA in 2003.
