State Rep. Tim O'Brien of Evansville met with U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, Governor Mike Braun, and other officials to tour the ongoing I-69 Ohio River Crossing project. The visit included stops at construction sites in Indiana and Henderson, Kentucky, where work is underway on approaches for a bridge that will link I-69 from Evansville to Henderson. Construction on the bridge is expected to begin in 2027.

O'Brien noted that this meeting marks his second discussion with Secretary Duffy about the project. Their previous meeting took place in Washington, D.C., in May.

"It was an honor to welcome Secretary Duffy to Evansville and show him first-hand how the I-69 Ohio River Crossing project is progressing and demonstrate its future impact," O'Brien said. "I met previously with Secretary Duffy in Washington, D.C., to share updates back in May. This follow-up visit highlights just how important the project is, not only for Evansville but on a national level as well."

O'Brien has supported the infrastructure initiative as a way to improve connections for residents and foster economic growth.

"This is an important endeavor to better connect our region and accelerate economic growth," O'Brien said. "I will continue to offer my support for this project through its completion and beyond, ensuring it delivers lasting benefits for our community."
