André Carson, U.S. Congressman representing Indiana’s 7th district since 2008, has recently addressed a range of issues affecting Americans in a series of posts on his social media account.
On September 8, Carson stated his position on legislative funding and health care, writing, "My stance is clear. I will support bipartisan funding that improves the health, safety, and economic well-being of everyday Americans. I will NOT support a partisan Republican bill that rips health care away from the American people."
The following day, Carson highlighted concerns about the rising cost of living in Indiana and questioned the impact of President Trump’s policies. On September 9 he posted, "In conversations I’ve been having with friends across Indiana, one thing is clear: the cost of living is too high. President Trump took office in January 2025. Have your costs risen due to his policies?"
On September 10, marking Suicide Prevention Day, Carson emphasized community support for mental health resources. He wrote, "You are not alone. On Suicide Prevention Day, let's come together in compassion and recommit to sharing resources with those who need it most. Call or text 988 for free support, 24/7."
Carson has represented Indiana’s 7th District since replacing Julia Carson in 2008 and previously served on the Indianapolis City-County Council from 2007 to 2008. Born in Indianapolis in 1974 and currently residing there at age 48, Carson holds a bachelor’s degree from Concordia University Wisconsin.
