State Rep. Lori Goss-Reaves recently recognized Vicki Gray of Marion with the Heart of 31 Award, an honor given to individuals in House District 31 who demonstrate exceptional service to others.
Gray, a graduate of Marion High School in 1970 and long-time supporter of the Marion Giants, is known for her volunteer work at the Senior Center where she serves meals. She also participates in church activities and is involved with Psi Iota Xi sorority, which backs programs related to speech, learning, literature, and art. Through this organization, Gray helps organize summer clinics for children between the ages of 4 and 18.
In addition to these efforts, Gray has volunteered at election polls and various community events over many years.
"Vicki embodies the core of our district through unwavering volunteerism and commitment," Goss-Reaves said. "Her kindness and love for others are exactly why I created the Heart of 31 Award. I was honored to join others in our community to recognize all of her hard work."
Goss-Reaves is encouraging residents in House District 31 to nominate individuals who make positive contributions to their community.
