Congressman Jefferson Shreve has concluded his 'Hoosier Heartland Tour,' during which he visited multiple communities across Indiana’s Sixth District in August. Over the course of the month, Shreve met with nearly two thousand residents at 45 different gatherings.
“I participated in 45 gatherings that let me meaningfully engage with Hoosiers. These were opportunities to share my work in Congress — and more importantly, to listen to the concerns and priorities of residents across the district. To represent constituents, you’ve got to meet them where they live and work. As I reflect on my visits, there was a consistent message: Hoosiers want to live in a nation that is safe, affordable, and responsive to their needs. I welcomed these opportunities to report back on my work in DC — and treasure these opportunities to hear from Hoosiers across Indiana's Sixth District," Shreve said.
During his tour, Congressman Shreve attended events such as a Farm Bureau Shop Talk with Fayette County farmers, listened to constituents in Hancock County, visited the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, toured local airports in Johnson and Wayne Counties, met with a farmer-owned cooperative in Shelby County, hosted a roundtable discussion with rural healthcare providers in Henry County, and answered questions from residents in Johnson County.
Shreve also shared a video reflection on his August tour for those interested in hearing more about his experiences.
