Congressman Jefferson Shreve, who represents Indiana's 6th congressional district, shared updates on his recent activities and legislative actions through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) in early September 2025.
On September 2, Shreve described his visit to a local healthcare facility. He wrote, "I appreciated the opportunity to tour @Ascensionorg’s Indy South Emergency Department. I got a firsthand view of St. Vincent’s emergency and immediate care delivery in #CD6. Quality care — close to home."
Three days later, on September 5, Shreve posted two messages. The first was a link-only post: "https://t.co/XNS53ucHmd". In his second post that day, he addressed U.S.-China relations regarding fentanyl trafficking: "I voted to hold China accountable for fentanyl trafficking. Congress took decisive action this week to stop the outflow of deadly Chinese fentanyl into our communities.
The Chinese need to lock it down — or face costly U.S. sanctions."
Fentanyl trafficking from China has been a longstanding concern for U.S. lawmakers and law enforcement agencies due to its significant role in the opioid crisis affecting many American communities.
