André Carson, U.S. Congressman representing Indiana’s 7th district since 2008, recently addressed issues affecting both his constituents and the nation in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).

On August 27, 2025, Carson voiced opposition to changes in legislative districts, stating: "We the people. For the people. By the people. Hoosiers are making their voices clear: no new districts."

The following day, he highlighted concerns about federal budget cuts impacting public lands in Indiana: "Our National Parks are facing staffing shortages because of Trump cuts – including in Indiana. These cuts are taking away jobs AND hurting our state’s most beautiful sites." This statement comes amid ongoing national discussions regarding park funding and employment levels.

Later on August 28, Carson marked an important civil rights anniversary by drawing parallels between past and present events: "62 years ago today, the March on Washington changed the course of history. In the face of fear, hate, and brutality inflicted by our own government, still, we marched. The same is accurate today. The National Guard has taken over our nation’s capital, and along with ICE is"

Carson succeeded Julia Carson as representative for Indiana's 7th District in 2008 after previously serving on the Indianapolis City-County Council from 2007 to 2008. Born in Indianapolis in 1974 and currently residing there at age 48, Carson graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin with a BA in 2003.
