André Carson, U.S. Congressman representing Indiana’s 7th district since 2008, addressed a range of issues in a series of tweets posted on August 11 and 12, 2025.

On August 11, Carson criticized former President Donald Trump’s stance toward federal employees. In his post, he stated, "President Trump is attacking America's workers — again. He’s trying to ban employees in the Department of Veterans Affairs from joining a union. Unions are good for workers and our entire economy. Once again, the Trump administration is making America weaker."

The following day, Carson highlighted the service of Major Lilibeth F. Goldshine in Indianapolis Public Schools. He wrote on August 12: "Major Lilibeth F. Goldshine served in the U.S. Army for over 20 years, earning the National Defense Service Medal with a Bronze Service Star, and has spent nearly 25 years leading the JROTC program in Indianapolis Public Schools. Her courage, leadership, and dedication continue https://t.co/mhIELoFPt5"

In another tweet posted moments later on August 12, Carson encouraged recognition of local women veterans: "If you know a Hoosier woman hero who has served our nation, you can submit a nomination here: https://t.co/RhJJbbjX0F"

Carson has represented Indiana's 7th District in Congress since replacing Julia Carson in 2008 and previously served on the Indianapolis City-County Council from 2007 to 2008. Born in Indianapolis in 1974 and currently residing there at age 48, he earned his bachelor’s degree from Concordia University Wisconsin in 2003.
