André Carson, U.S. Congressman representing Indiana’s 7th district since 2008, addressed key local and national issues in a series of recent posts on his official Twitter account.

On August 8, 2025, Carson referenced the outcome of a local decision regarding electoral districts, stating: "Yesterday, Hoosiers made their voices heard—no new districts."

The following day, August 9, he promoted legislative efforts to improve public safety. In one post he wrote: "Learn how my bill can help save lives in my latest with @IndyRecorder." In another tweet posted at the same time, Carson highlighted the ongoing impact of gun violence on Indianapolis families and outlined his proposed legislation: "Too many families in Indianapolis know the heartbreaking reality of losing a loved one to gun violence. My Gun Safety Incentive Act makes it easier for households to securely store firearms and keeps them out of the wrong hands."

Carson has represented Indiana's 7th District in Congress since succeeding Julia Carson in 2008. Before joining Congress, he served on the Indianapolis City-County Council from 2007 to 2008. Born and residing in Indianapolis, André Carson earned his BA from Concordia University Wisconsin in 2003.
