Indianapolis Public Schools names Dr. Eric Davis executive director of schools

The Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) Board of School Commissioners has approved Dr. Eric Davis as the new Executive Director of Schools. The decision was made during the Board Action Session held on Thursday, July 31.

Dr. Davis brings more than two decades of experience from Anderson Community Schools, where he has held several instructional and leadership roles over 22 years. Most recently, he served as assistant superintendent, overseeing K-12 schools and academic programs. He has also worked as a principal and assistant principal at different levels within the Anderson district.

According to IPS, "Dr. Davis is passionate about learning and growing as an educational leader. He believes that every student can be successful if provided the support they need and the opportunity they deserve to learn and grow as young scholars."

Outside his professional duties, Dr. Davis participates in non-profit boards that focus on community initiatives for children and families.

"We are excited to welcome Dr. Eric Davis to Indianapolis Public Schools!" IPS stated in its announcement.
