André Carson, U.S. Congressman representing Indiana’s 7th district since 2008, addressed issues of climate change and local safety initiatives in a series of posts on July 30 and 31, 2025.
On July 30, Carson commented on recent political actions regarding environmental policy. He stated, "This move is reckless and dangerous. Climate change impacts Hoosiers now – low air quality contributes to a variety of health issues, from respiratory disease, high blood pressure, to heart problems. This is a destructive political stunt that puts our children’s health at risk."
The following day, Carson highlighted community improvements in Indianapolis through grant funding. On July 31 he posted, "Progress powered by people. Indianapolis is a little bit safer thanks to a pedestrian safety grant from @AARPIndiana, awarded to the Chatham Arch Neighborhood Association." In another post the same day, he added, "This grant represents what Indianapolis does best – neighborhood solutions coming straight from the neighbors themselves."
Carson has represented Indiana's 7th District in Congress since replacing Julia Carson in 2008. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served on the Indianapolis City-County Council from 2007 to 2008. Born in Indianapolis in 1974 and currently residing there at age 48, Carson graduated with a BA from Concordia University Wisconsin in 2003.
