André Carson, U.S. Congressman representing Indiana’s 7th district since 2008, has posted a series of statements on his official social media account addressing political transparency, recent court decisions, and economic issues.
On July 24, 2025, Carson called for the release of certain files with a succinct post: "Release the files."
Later that same day, Carson commented on former President Donald Trump’s impact on the current political climate and referenced a legal development involving federal appointments. He wrote on July 24, 2025: "Donald Trump is creating so much chaos, it’s hard to keep track. It’s also sometimes hard to keep track of our victories – the small but impactful ways we are resisting.
Thanks to a court case, 2 Democratic members of the National Credit Union Administration will be reinstated".
The following day, Carson addressed economic concerns related to currency fluctuations. On July 25, 2025 he posted: "FACT CHECK: When the dollar is down, things cost more, including:
Imported goods (electronics, clothes, cars)
Gas
Vacations and travel
A weak dollar does not help your wallet."
Carson has represented Indiana's 7th District in Congress since succeeding Julia Carson in 2008. Before joining Congress, he served on the Indianapolis City-County Council from 2007 to 2008. Born in Indianapolis in 1974 and currently residing there at age 48, Carson earned his bachelor's degree from Concordia University Wisconsin in 2003.
