In collaboration with its transportation partner, First Student, Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) is relaunching the FirstView mobile app. This app provides real-time GPS vehicle tracking and student transportation monitoring.
The FirstView app allows parents and caregivers to stay connected with their student's daily trips. It is available for download on both iOS and Android devices under the name "FirstView 1.0." Users must register for a new account as previous versions will not migrate over.
To use the app, users need to set up a profile and provide necessary information. The app offers distance notifications that alert users when a vehicle is close to a student's stop location. Notifications can be received through the app or via push notification by setting them in the Notification Settings section.
Additionally, users can add themselves or other family members as notification recipients to receive email alerts. Once setup is complete, users can track their student's daily trips on a map.
