We are seeking 25 students from Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) in grades 3 through 6 to join hockey team development classes starting this fall. The program is designed for students who meet school expectations, show dedication to practice, and demonstrate coachability. Thanks to a secured grant, participants will receive full gear including helmets, pads, sticks, and skates.

The classes will include weekly practices lasting one to two hours and scrimmages each season. Each student will have one hour of ice time weekly. The program is open to new participants as well as returning students from previous skating classes.

Interested parties can contact Kathy Langdon at Langdonk@myips.org or text at 317.681.4033 for more information.

The focus of the program is on teaching skating and hockey basics in an engaging way. It aims to get kids active, teach resilience and persistence, grow confidence, introduce them to hockey, foster new skills, and create lifelong memories.

Additional goals include identifying children who develop a passion for the sport and wish to continue playing.

Please sign up by August 16th.
