On June 6, 2025, Carson extended greetings for Eid al-Fitr to those observing the holiday. He expressed his wishes for peace during this period of reflection by stating: "Wishing a joyful Eid to all who celebrate. May this time of reflection bring peace to your families and communities. Eid Mubarak!"

Later that day, Carson addressed immigration policies under former President Donald Trump, highlighting their impact on minority communities. He commented: "If you look closely at Trump's immigration policies, it's clear to see who the targets are. The majority of people impacted by the new travel ban? Black and Brown people. The majority of people impacted by Trump's mass deportations? Black and Brown people."

On June 9, 2025, Carson critiqued actions in Los Angeles related to national security measures and their legal implications as a Senior Member of the House Intelligence Committee with extensive experience in intelligence work. He stated: "I'm a Senior Member of the House Intel Committee. I've worked in intelligence throughout my career. What's happening in LA isn't national security, and it's not making you safer. Mass deportations don't enforce the law — they are breaking the law."

André Carson was born in Indianapolis in 1974 and continues to reside there today. Before serving in Congress, he was part of the Indianapolis City-County Council from 2007 to 2008.
