Educators from Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) are set to receive grants from Lilly Endowment Inc. The funding is aimed at supporting educational projects that aim to rejuvenate educators, encourage creativity, and enhance the learning experiences of students.
The Teacher Creativity Fellowship Program, initiated in 1987, has been a significant source of support for educators across Indiana's public and private schools. This year's grant recipients include classroom teachers, principals, assistant principals, instructional coaches, counselors, social workers, and librarians. These individuals come from various school settings including traditional public schools, charter schools, and private institutions located in urban, suburban, and rural areas throughout Indiana.
"By supporting these renewal experiences," Lilly Endowment states their goal is "to restore educators’ passion for teaching and deepen their commitment to their profession," ultimately benefiting both students and communities.
Since its inception, the program has awarded over 3,800 grants to educators. IPS recipients are among those who will benefit from this year's awards.
