IPS hosts annual tribute to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy

The Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) Office of Racial Equity and Inclusion is organizing the 44th Annual IPS Tribute to the Life and Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The event will take place on Friday, January 17, from 10-11 a.m. at Crispus Attucks High School.

This year's theme is “The Arc of the Moral Universe is Long, But It Bends Toward Justice.” The program will be broadcast live and can be watched by the community through the IPS YouTube channel and WFYI-1.

Tina Cosby, director of community affairs at WTLC AM1310, will serve as this year’s emcee. The event will feature performances by Markel Pippins, associate director of music at Witherspoon Presbyterian Church; the Imani Praise Team from Witherspoon Presbyterian Church; JROTC Color Guard from Crispus Attucks High School; Krash Krew and Ladies of Eastern Star Church; and the George Washington High School Concert Choir.
