Applications are now open for the Indiana House Page Program during the 2025 legislative session at the Statehouse in Indianapolis. This opportunity is extended to Hoosier students aged 13 to 18, as announced by State Representatives Matt Lehman and J.D. Prescott.
Representative Lehman highlighted that student pages will assist lawmakers and staff, tour the Indiana Statehouse, and listen in on legislative sessions. "Student pages have the opportunity to meet local lawmakers and work with Statehouse staff during their visit," Lehman stated. He described the program as a valuable chance for young Hoosiers to learn about Indiana government and the legislative process.
Students interested in participating can page on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays throughout the session. Wednesdays are reserved for large groups, which can be scheduled by contacting the page program director at 317-232-9410 or via email at pageprogram@iga.in.gov. Representative Prescott emphasized this unique educational experience: "It’s always a highlight of session when local students serve as pages at the Statehouse," he said. "This program offers a unique chance to better understand the lawmaking process while learning how decisions impact their communities."
The application process is currently live, with further details available at IndianaHouseRepublicans.com/PageProgram. The legislative session began on January 8 and will conclude by April 29, 2025. Students must arrange their own lunch and transportation to Indianapolis.
