Applications are now open for the Indiana House Page Program for the 2025 legislative session at the Statehouse in Indianapolis. This opportunity is available to Hoosier students aged 13 to 18, as announced by State Representatives Stephen Bartels (R-Eckerty) and Shane Lindauer (R-Jasper).
Bartels emphasized the educational benefits of participating in the program: "It's always exciting to welcome students into the Statehouse," he said. "They can learn more about the inner workings of government and see how our laws are made."
The program offers a chance for young individuals to assist lawmakers and staff, tour the Indiana Statehouse, and observe legislative sessions. Applications can be accessed at IndianaHouseRepublicans.com/PageProgram, where available dates during the session, which runs from January 8 to April 29, are listed.
"The page program is a great opportunity for young Hoosiers to learn more about their state government," stated Lindauer. "I look forward to meeting students from around the state and House District 63."
Students interested in participating can page on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays during the session and will receive an excused absence from school. Large groups have designated participation days on Wednesdays only. To arrange group visits, contact details for scheduling include reaching out to the page program director at 317-232-9410 or via email at pageprogram@iga.in.gov.
Participants are responsible for their own lunch and transportation arrangements to and from Indianapolis.
State Rep. Stephen Bartels represents House District 74, which encompasses Crawford, Perry, Spencer counties, and parts of Dubois and Orange counties.
