With the 2025 legislative session approaching, lawmakers in Hancock County are urging residents to participate in online surveys to provide feedback on significant issues. Residents can access these surveys through their state representative's webpage by selecting the "Take My Survey" button.
The representatives from Hancock County include State Rep. Cory Criswell (R-Middletown) for House District 54, State Rep. Chris Jeter (R-Fishers) for House District 88, and State Rep. Ethan Lawson (R-Greenfield) for House District 53.
"The next legislative session will reflect the current needs and priorities of Hoosiers," stated Criswell. He emphasized that the survey responses are crucial for addressing issues impacting residents' lives during the upcoming session.
To submit an online survey, participants must reside within the district and complete it by December 31. Constituents can verify their district through the Indiana General Assembly's website by entering their home address under "Find Your Legislator." Additionally, some may have received a physical copy of their representative's survey in the mail.
"Learning what's on the minds of Hoosiers in our community is important when considering proposed legislation," said Jeter. He encouraged constituents to dedicate time to complete the survey as the session start approaches.
The legislative session is set to commence on January 8 and conclude by April 29. Residents can track proceedings via iga.in.gov, where information on proposed legislation and livestreams of committee hearings are available.
"As a newly elected state representative, I look forward to hearing directly from my community about important topics," expressed Lawson. He noted that feedback would aid him in effectively representing his community's needs during the session.
