Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) has partnered with various community organizations to bring holiday cheer to students through the IPS Angel Tree Program. Launched in 2023 by the Family and Community Engagement and McKinney-Vento teams, the program focuses on aiding unaccompanied minors who face challenges due to unstable housing or lack of parental care.

The initiative aims to support these high school students during the holiday season by fulfilling their wish lists and providing them with essential items such as snacks, blankets, socks, hats, gloves, and more. This year, nearly 100 students benefited from the program's efforts.

“We’re so grateful for our supporters, including Anthem, Lids, Everdriven, and the many generous individuals and organizations who made this possible,” said Tiffany M. Parker, a Family and Community Engagement Manager for the district. “Their generosity ensures that every student involved in the program feels the warmth of community care and holiday cheer.”

Parker emphasized that beyond providing gifts, the IPS Angel Tree Program is about fostering moments of joy and hope during a challenging time for those facing instability. The program underscores IPS's commitment to supporting students both inside and outside of school.

For those interested in contributing to similar initiatives, IPS encourages reaching out to their Family and Community Engagement team for involvement opportunities. Contact Tiffany M. Parker at parkertm@myips.org for more information on how you can help make a positive impact on students' lives.
