With the 2025 legislative session on the horizon, Jefferson County lawmakers are urging Hoosiers to participate in online surveys to provide feedback on key issues. State representatives Alex Zimmerman, Zach Payne, and Garrett Bascom have made these surveys accessible through their respective webpages.

Zimmerman emphasized the importance of constituent feedback: "To represent Hoosiers at the Statehouse, it is really helpful to have feedback from constituents on how they feel about certain issues." He added that completing the survey would enable him to be a stronger advocate for House District 67.

Residents of each district must complete their surveys by December 31. They can verify their district by visiting the Indiana General Assembly's website and using the "Find Your Legislator" tool. Some may also receive a physical copy of the survey in their mailboxes.

Payne echoed Zimmerman's sentiments, stating, "Having feedback from my constituents can be a great help when advocating for them at the Statehouse." He encouraged residents to take this opportunity seriously.

The upcoming legislative session begins January 8 and will conclude by April 29. During this period, Hoosiers can follow proceedings online and access information about proposed legislation.

Bascom highlighted his anticipation as a new legislator: “As a new legislator, this survey will be extremely helpful as I start my first legislative session.” He urged community members to share their priorities through this platform.

Hoosiers can stay informed during the session by subscribing to email newsletters or contacting legislators directly via phone.
