Thirty students from Arsenal Technical, George Washington, and Shortridge high schools are set to receive their diplomas at the 2024 Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) Fall Graduation ceremony. The event is scheduled for October 9 and will honor those who completed their graduation requirements after the traditional May deadline. It will take place at Anderson Auditorium, located within Arsenal Technical High School, starting at 6 p.m.

Dr. Derrick Slack, a motivational author and IPS graduation coach, will deliver the keynote address. His speech aims to underscore the resilience needed to achieve this milestone.

Cara Hachmeister, the graduation and alternative services coordinator, remarked on the challenges faced by these students: “For many of these students, the road to graduation isn’t easy,” she said. “Faced with various challenges and setbacks, they are unable to participate in the spring commencement. However, through hard work and dedication, they will cross the finish line and join the ranks of the Class of 2024.”
