Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) families are encouraged to attend an immunization clinic on August 15 at the Shepherd Community Center. The event aims to make vaccines accessible to everyone in the community.
The clinic will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Shepherd Community Center, located at 4107 E. Washington St. Families are advised to complete the online registration form at patients.vaxcare.com/registration using the enrollment code IN65942 and select Shepherd Community-8/15/24.
Walk-ins are welcome, but individuals under the age of 18 must have parent or guardian consent. Attendees should upload or bring their immunization records and insurance cards.
The clinic accepts all types of insurance, including commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid. For those without insurance, there is no cost for vaccines except for Shingles and adult RSV vaccines, which may require a co-pay.
All CDC-recommended vaccines will be available. The state immunization registry will be consulted to assess each individual's needs. Those wishing to refuse a specific vaccine should contact the Indiana Immunization Coalition at least 48 hours prior to the event at clinic@vaccinateindiana.org.
"This is an opportunity to ensure you and your loved ones are up-to-date on essential immunizations," organizers stated. "We look forward to seeing you at the clinic and helping our IPS community stay healthy and protected."
