U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.) has joined Senator John Cornyn (R-Texas) and 43 other Senate Republicans in introducing a joint resolution of disapproval under the Congressional Review Act. The resolution aims to nullify the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ rule on the definition of “Engaged in the Business” as a Dealer in Firearms, which they argue contradicts existing law and congressional intent.

The Biden Administration’s proposed rule seeks to mandate that anyone selling a firearm must register as a federal firearm licensee. Critics assert that this requirement violates constitutional rights.

"I have always been a strong supporter and defender of the Second Amendment, and I am committed to protecting the constitutional rights of law-abiding Hoosiers," said Senator Young. "American citizens have the right to engage in lawful firearms transactions without unconstitutional hurdles imposed by federal bureaucrats. I am committed to fighting this rule and protecting the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Hoosiers."
