This is the fifth highest average salary per county earned by coaches at Indiana post-secondary schools during 2022.

Marion County is home to four post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, Butler University stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $202,271.

Male coaches of men's teams received $115,276 on average in Marion County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $58,237.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
