Message from Republic about the Upcoming Winter Storm
A MESSAGE FROM REPUBLIC ABOUT THE UPCOMING WINTER STORM: We are closely monitoring the weather systems that are coming in for later this week, and our biggest concern at this time is for Friday 12/23. It’s looking like we may get some rain, followed by a quick drop in temps that will freeze the wet pavements as the rain turns to snow. Followed by a drastic drop in temperature on Friday, which result in many difficulties.
There are several safety concerns:
• The extreme cold and its effect on all of our crews
• Our customers and residents rolling carts/containers out to the curb in these extreme cold and icy conditions
• The extreme cold and its effect on all of our equipment and hydraulics
• The frozen roads and their navigability without causing accidents
Republic’s team will continue to monitor all incoming weather, and likely into Thursday to make a determination for if we should proceed with collections as normal on Friday. If the decision is made to suspend trash service on Friday due to weather conditions, we will communicate with you all the plan to recover any of our residents impacted from this winter storm.
